Annual Black History Essay Contest: Brown v. Board of Education

MOLD-EN OUR YOUTH FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE, INC is hosting their annual Black History Month
Essay contest. The final deadline for submitting all required documents is
Saturday February 28, 2026, 11:59 P.M.
We are excited to announce an essay contest focusing on a pivotal moment in American history—the landmark
Supreme Court decision of “Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka” This case played a crucial role in the
fight for equality in American education. Students are invited to explore its significance and the individuals
involved.
We encourage you to delve deep into this significant historical event and express your thoughts through your
writing. This is a wonderful opportunity to enhance your understanding of a critical chapter in the fight for civil
rights and education equality. We can’t wait to read your insightful essays!
Theme: Brown v. Board of Education: A Landmark Decision in the Fight for Equality
The following aspects should be explored in the essay:
• The background of the case and its importance
• The individuals involved, including the courageous plaintiffs, dedicated attorneys, and
influential Supreme Court justices
• The key arguments presented during the case
• In your view, what effects has this case had on the current education system
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
1. The contest is open to high school student’s grades, 9th-12th grade in the United States of America.
2. Entries must be received no later than February 28, 2026/11:59 P.M. email all required documents to

3. Entries must be a document using 12-point or Arial or Times New
Roman font, double spaced.
4. Each entry must contain 750-1,300 words.
5. Complete entries consist of the following:
• Essay-Student’s name should be in the top right corner of the first page
• Proof of Identify —- Copy of student’s ID
• Proof of Attendance – Document that list the Name of the student, Grade Enrolled and Name of the
School
• Student Entry Form signed by student and parent
6. Essays must be the original work of the student.
7. Plagiarism will not be tolerated, to include essay submissions from Artificial Intelligence.
8. An automatic reply will state if the maximum number of essays (100) has been reached.
9. Cash prizes: First Place: $500.00 Second Place: $300.00 Third Place: $200.00
10. Prize checks will be sent first class mail. Essay contest winners will be notified via email, text message or
telephonically.
