Yolanda Molden-Verner is the founder and CEO of MOLD-EN OUR YOUTH FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE (MOYFABF) Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit organization, focused to provide resources and financial assistance to high school students, seeking to attend an institution of higher learning.

She is a graduate of Calhoun County High School, Edison, Georgia.  As a high school student, the lack of financial resources resonated within her, thus creating a wonderful opportunity to give back and make a difference in the lives of high school students, by encouraging them to continue their education after high school.

An Army Veteran, she served her country with pride and honor for 22 years.  While serving in the U.S. Army, Yolanda attended many schools and courses for professional development and received numerous awards and decorations for her performance and achievements.

She believes “Education is the new currency!” Attending a post-secondary school will significantly improve employment opportunities, earning potential, and most importantly in the words of her mother, Ms. Eunnie V. Molden, “Education is something that once you get it, no one can ever take it away from you.”

Initially, Yolanda established the “MOLD-EN OUR YOUTH FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE Scholarship Award to provide financial assistance to students at her high school alma mater. The scholarship award is granted to the winner of the annual essay contest. The opportunity to enter essay contests and win cash prizes has been expanded to all high school students in the United States.  (See Contest Rules)

Yolanda currently resides in Tampa, Florida. She serves faithfully at her church and loves to reach others through volunteerism.  She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. Yolanda is a member of  Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority, Inc.   She currently holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

I currently reside in a suburb of Detroit Michigan which is where I was born. I come from a large family of ten siblings.  We were taught to work hard, continue your education, and treat everyone right!

I am fortunate to have experienced many career opportunities ranging from retail to manufacturing.  I was employed by General Motors over 40 years. I served as a UAW International Union Representative for 14 of those years During my tenure I held numerous leadership positions, both appointed and elected.  I have served as National Vice President of the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) for four years. I was elected National President of Coalition of Labor Union Women at the Biennial Convention in 2013. I participate in my church with the Mission and Youth departments. I love to watch movies and HGTV!

I enjoy creating campaign literature for candidates seeking elected positions, within their community and union. I also consult, coach and encourage others to help them realize their ideas and the potential of achieving their dreams.

My goal is to encourage young people to lead through mentorship and most importantly by example!

I am excited and honored to serve as a board member of Mold-EN our Youth for A Brighter Future, Inc, because I have always championed young people through educational encouragement. Serving as a board member will allow me to continue to act upon my passion to inspire and mold our future leaders!
